Who we are

In the heart of Venice, between Santa Lucia Station and Rialto Bridge, a few steps from the Casino, we wanted to give substance to our philosophy of hospitality. It is reborn: “La Colombina”. The historic venue of the lagoon scene today lives a new life that wants to combine tradition and modernity not only in the type of cuisine but also in the warm, convivial, informal environment... in short, the ideal place to spend a good evening with friends, a special evening or perhaps a business lunch.

There are countless opportunities to visit Venice, now there is one more: "la Colombina". A cuisine idea inspired by tradition but devoted to contemporaneity, a new classic that ranges from historic Venetian dishes to creative proposals, for an aperitif, a quick lunch, a special occasion!


We are characterized by carefully selected ingredients, and possibly zero kilometres, combined with tradition, a pinch of creativity, with good taste, little fat and a lot of attention to the new trends and needs of today (allergies, intolerances; inform us we will be happy to help you in create a custom menu).

Our aperitif:

our idea is simple… a quality wine or a spritz (it seems that foreign dominations added water to wine in the lagoon) and some tasty snacks from our cupboard which range from the most traditional dishes (saor, cold cuts, frico…) to more contemporary proposals (squid cappuccino, celery and gorgonzola…) the most important condiment a good dose of conviviality combined with a smile ready to welcome you and explain our proposals. There is also a small but well-stocked culinary library.

We don't hide... we are Venetians, proudly Venetians.
This is why we want to offer the great lagoon culinary tradition in our kitchen
however, reinterpreting the flavors and recipes with creativity, imagination and an eye to the future.
So in our proposal, combinations of sometimes curious flavors are intertwined
but always fascinating and respectful of raw materials.
A refined cuisine but where the ingredient that gives the dish its name is always the undisputed protagonist
and where modern cooking methods and color presentations enhance it first to the eye and immediately afterwards to the palate.

A city built on water, which has made water its wealth and its path towards other worlds and other peoples.
A place where traffic does not exist, a place of redemption of the mind and soul,
where footsteps echo on stones laid centuries ago.
In this oasis of art and culture we have chosen to create our gastronomic oasis.
This is why we chose Campo Santa Marina, in the Castello sestiere (neighborhood), the oldest in the city.
This is why we wanted to pay maximum attention to every detail.
With warm and welcoming furnishings, made of wood and calm tones, we want to give you an ideal environment in which to find the tranquility of living quietly and without haste.
By taking perfect care of the mise en place we want to enhance your experience by offering you creativity and concreteness.
And during the summer period, you can enjoy the atmosphere offered by the outdoor area while dining by candlelight,
in a quiet and romantic little square.
